Birthday card
with money inside
Money is a great gift and a terrible notification. Wrap it in a card instead: your message, then the amount counting up with gold confetti. You send the money with Venmo, Zelle or PayPal like always; the card makes it feel like a present.

How the money gift works
The amount counts up
Zero to the full amount in a second, then a burst of gold confetti, on a surprise page of its own.
Works with how you pay
Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, a bank transfer or cash in hand. The card frames it; your app sends it.
Or a gift card link
Paste any e-gift card URL as a gift link and it opens from inside the card, on a free card.
Card, money, send
- 1
Write the card
Your message, a photo or a GIF. The money lands better after a sentence that means something.
- 2
Add the money gift
Pick the currency, type the amount and a short note. Or paste a gift card link instead.
- 3
Send both
Send the money in your payment app, then text them the card link. They open it and watch it count up.
Common questions
Can I send money in a digital birthday card?
Yes, with one honest caveat: the card is the wrapping, not the bank. You send the money the way you already do, with Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App or a bank transfer, and the card shows the amount as a reveal. They unwrap the card, the number counts up, gold confetti goes off. Birthdaypage never touches the money.
Why not just send it on Venmo?
A Venmo notification says '$50 from you' between a pizza split and a utility bill. A card says it was for their birthday, with your message, a photo of you two and the amount landing as a surprise of its own. Same money, very different moment.
Can I put a gift card inside the card?
Yes. Paste the gift card's link (an Amazon eGift card, a Starbucks card, a Target or Visa gift card you bought online) as a gift link, give it a label, and it opens from inside the card. Gift links are free and count as one of the card's two free surprises.
What currencies can I show?
US dollars, euros, British pounds, Canadian and Australian dollars, Swiss francs, Japanese yen, Indian rupees, Brazilian reais, and Norwegian, Swedish and Danish kroner. Pick the one you're actually sending in. Whole amounts from 1 up to 50,000.
Does a card with money cost anything?
The money reveal is part of Birthday Boost, a one-time upgrade for that card that also unlocks voice notes, the birthday cake and premium effects. Gift card links work on a free card. Birthday Club members get the money reveal on every card.
Can I add a note about what the money is for?
Yes. The money gift has its own short note (up to 120 characters), like 'For the concert tickets' or 'Do not spend this on anything sensible', shown with the amount.
What should I write in a birthday card with money?
Say what it's for, or that it's for nothing in particular. 'Dinner's on me this year, pick somewhere fancy', 'For the trip you keep talking about', 'Spend it on something completely useless and tell me what it was'. Kids and teens love an amount that counts up; grandparents love a photo next to it.
Can several people chip in?
Yes. Collect the money however your group does, show the combined amount, and put everyone's messages in as notes. Say who it's from in the money note, like 'From all of us on the fourth floor'.
